Marquette University School of Dentistry, in association with a local affiliated hospital, seeks a full-time faculty member for its developing Advanced Dental Education General Practice Residency (GPR) certificate program. Faculty will join our innovative, growing team to provide the highest standard of comprehensive dental care services with resident teaching, mentoring, curriculum planning and effective supervision inside of our newly renovated clinic space. You will work with high-quality residents in our state-of-the art clinic with collaborative and engaged colleagues across the healthcare spectrum.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Along with other program faculty, supervise and mentor residents in the Comprehensive Care Clinic in the School of Dentistry primarily, with occasional dental care delivery at a local affiliated hospital.
2. Provide clinical instruction, assistance in teaching and oversight of resident care of patients. Support residency program innovation regarding the newest advancements in digital dentistry.
3. Consult and work closely with medical professionals while leading a dental clinic of dental hygiene professionals and auxiliary dental and office staff.
4. Assist the Program Director in GPR program administration, mentorship of residents, implementation of curriculum plan and clinical schedules and maintenance of records related to the educational program.
5. Serve as second emergency department hospital call during normal working hours and provide occasional dental care in an operating room setting.
6. Participate in professional and clinical skill development activities. If desired, work as a general practice practitioner in the Faculty practice Clinic or equivalent while maintaining full-time faculty status.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualified applicants must have a DMD/DDS degree from a US dental school recognized by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Applicants must hold or be eligible for a full Wisconsin dental license without restrictions.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Successful completion of either the CODA accredited 1) General Practice Residency (GPR) Program or 2) Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program.
Experience and strong interest in dental resident training, especially GPR or residency programs, and student teaching.

Experience in providing clinical care and instruction in the treatment of patients with medically complex conditions, acquired developmental and intellectual disabilities and other special health care needs in an outpatient setting.
