Job Description:
Mountain Gateway Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Geography. This position will involve teaching a variety of geography courses to a diverse student body in a supportive learning environment at our Clifton Forge campus.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in Geography as assigned, ensuring course objectives and outcomes are met.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments.
- Facilitate an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate effectively with students regarding their progress.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support the academic mission of the college.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Geography or a related field, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Geography.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and a passion for fostering student learning.
- Ability to engage students in both traditional and experiential learning opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
